High advertising rates make Business one of the most commercially attractive corners of YouTube, and the competition shows. Channels range from solo operators explaining their own numbers to production teams building case studies, and both compete for viewers who arrive with intent rather than by browsing. That intent gives the niche unusually durable content: a good explainer keeps arriving from search for years, so baselines climb slowly and do not collapse between uploads. An outlier here is rarely a trend. It is normally a story — a company that failed, a number nobody expected, a strategy finally explained in a way that made sense. Watch for the difference between videos that teach and videos that entertain with a business wrapper, because they attract different audiences and only one of them compounds. Read each top row for the question the title poses, and whether the video genuinely answers it.

Open the free Outlier DatabaseHow the Business ranking is built
- Every Business video is scored against its own channel: its views divided by the median views of that channel's other mature long-form uploads. 12,730 videos from 82 channels are scored in this snapshot.
- A row reaches this table only when it clears four floors — a multiplier of at least 2x, uploaded within the past 365 days, at least 10,000 views, and a channel median of at least 1,000 views. 365 Business videos clear all four.
- At most 2 videos per channel appear, so one Business channel having a remarkable year cannot take the whole table.
- 27.9% of scored Business videos reach 2x or more, 10.5% reach 5x and 5.1% reach 10x — which is what a large multiplier is worth in this niche specifically.

Common questions
Why do case studies about failure perform so well?
A failure has a built-in question and a real ending, which is everything a title and thumbnail need. A success story asks the viewer to already admire the subject, while a collapse is legible to anyone. The shape also ages well, because the story does not change, so these videos keep collecting views long after release.
Should a small business channel chase the same subjects?
Only the shapes. Large channels win the famous company by outspending everyone on research and production. A smaller channel wins by applying the same structure to something it has direct access to: its own numbers, a local operator, an industry it worked in. Specificity beats scale here more reliably than in most niches.
My views are high but my multiplier is low. What does that mean?
It means your ordinary videos already do well. The multiplier compares a channel with itself, so a consistently large audience raises the bar an upload must clear to look unusual. That is a healthy problem: read the leaderboard for the shapes that beat much higher baselines than yours rather than for raw view counts.
