What resolutions can I download?
Every size YouTube stores: maxres (1280x720), standard (640x480), high (480x360), medium (320x180) and default (120x90), plus the 405x720 Shorts portrait crop when it exists.
Why is the max-resolution thumbnail sometimes missing?
YouTube only generates the 1280x720 maxres file for HD uploads. If a video was never uploaded in HD, that size won't exist. vidfora shows you which sizes are available and which aren't.
What links does it accept?
