Nine tools that promise to show you which videos are overperforming, lined up by price, free tier, and what each one means by “outlier”. Checked on every vendor's own site in September 2026.
Free plan. No credit card required.
Every tool below answers a version of the same question — which videos are beating expectations right now — and they answer it differently enough that the comparison is worth making slowly. Three things separate them in practice.
The first is method. An outlier score is only as trustworthy as the baseline it divides by. Vidfora divides a video's views by the median views of its own channel's other mature videos in the same format, excludes the video from its own baseline, and never mixes Shorts with long-form. Most vendors describe a multiplier without publishing the arithmetic, which is worth knowing before you spend a week on an idea a number recommended.
The second is the free tier. A trial tells you whether a tool is pleasant; a free plan that never expires tells you whether the research habit sticks. Some tools here give you one, some meter a free plan by credits or searches, and some are paid from the first day.
The third is what happens after you find an outlier. A list of overperforming videos changes nothing on its own: the work is the title, the thumbnail and the opening thirty seconds. Some tools stop at the research, some write the script, and some generate the finished video. That single difference is why entry prices on this page run from $15 a month to $99.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vidfora | Free, then $29/mo | Free forever, no card: 10 pages of the outlier feed daily, boards, 5 tracked channels, every creator tool | Views divided by the channel's own median for the same format, the scored video excluded, Shorts and long-form kept apart | Creators who want the research and the packaging in one subscription |
| 1of10 | Free, then $29/mo | Free plan: outlier search, bookmarks, 3 tracked channels | A multiplier against the channel's own performance; formula not published | Outlier research with a free tier, if you can live with AI on the $69/mo tier |

One tool at a time
Each page carries a feature table, a tier-by-tier pricing table, who should pick which, and the questions buyers actually ask.
1of10 popularized outlier research: finding videos that massively overperform their channel.
Compare with 1of10vidIQ is a broad YouTube SEO suite: keywords, tags, channel audits and an AI coach.

Compare with TubeBuddySubscribr (subscribr.ai) started as an AI scriptwriter and now sells a whole production line: idea batches from outlier data, scripts, thumbnails and generated videos.
Compare with SubscribrTaja (taja.ai) optimizes videos you've already made: AI titles, descriptions, chapters, tags, Shorts clips and scheduling.
Compare with Taja AIOutlierKit is a credit-metered research suite: outlier searches, a keyword finder, a niche-wide Competitor Studio, and an MCP server that drops the data into Claude or ChatGPT.
Compare with OutlierKitTubeLab is a niche-hunting tool aimed at faceless channels: it filters channels and outliers by estimated RPM, revenue and monetization status, then writes scripts for what it finds.
Compare with TubeLabViewStats is the analytics platform from the team behind MrBeast's channel: public channel stats, an Outliers tool, Thumbnail Search, competitor tracking and alerts.
Compare with ViewStatsTwo tools are left off: Kliptory keeps its pricing behind a sign-in, and Spotter Studio no longer publishes a pricing page we could read. This table only carries figures read on a public pricing page. New to the vocabulary? The research glossary defines the terms, and the public outlier leaderboards show the live data behind Vidfora's own scores.
A few more things
An outlier is a video that beat what its own channel normally does, rather than a video with a big view count. Vidfora measures it as a multiplier: the video's views divided by the median views of that channel's other mature videos in the same format, with the video excluded from its own baseline and Shorts scored only against Shorts. A 7x did seven times that channel's usual numbers, whether the channel has 4,000 subscribers or four million.
Vidfora and 1of10 both have a free plan with outlier search and no credit card; ViewStats has a free public site and a free Chrome extension; vidIQ and Subscribr have free plans metered by credits or by searches. OutlierKit gives trial credits instead, Taja runs a 7-day trial, and TubeLab and TubeBuddy list no free plan on their pricing pages today. The table above states each one as it was read this month.
Ask what the score divides by. A multiplier against the channel's own median is a different number from one against a rolling average, a niche average or a subscriber-count expectation, and a tool that mixes Shorts into a long-form baseline will report inflated scores for channels that post both. Most vendors publish the idea and not the formula, so the practical test is to score a channel you know well and see whether the ranking matches your own judgment.
The list is the cheap half. What changes a channel is the next step: writing a title that carries the same promise, designing a thumbnail that can stand beside the one that worked, and scripting an opening that earns the first thirty seconds. Tools differ enormously here — some stop at the research, some write scripts, some generate the whole video. Decide which of those you actually want before you compare prices.
Every price, plan name and free-tier detail on this page was read on the vendor's own pricing page in September 2026. Pricing in this category changes often, and promotional rates come and go, so treat the table as a starting point and confirm on their site before you buy.
