Rights restrictions shape Sports more than talent does. Match footage belongs to somebody else, so creator channels build on analysis, tactics, training, history and fan culture instead, and the ones that thrive have found something the broadcasters do not supply. Demand follows the season and the fixture calendar, which makes baselines cyclical and comparisons across months unreliable. Outliers usually come from a moment everybody saw explained better than anybody else managed, or from a piece of context that changes how a result is understood. Shorts do enormous work here, since one play or one statistic is complete on its own. Read the top rows for what the creator added to something the audience had already watched, because that addition is the entire business.

How the Sports ranking is built

  • Every Sports video is scored against its own channel: its views divided by the median views of that channel's other mature long-form uploads. 5,278 videos from 87 channels are scored in this snapshot.
  • A row reaches this table only when it clears four floors — a multiplier of at least 2x, uploaded within the past 365 days, at least 10,000 views, and a channel median of at least 1,000 views. 279 Sports videos clear all four.
  • At most 2 videos per channel appear, so one Sports channel having a remarkable year cannot take the whole table.
  • 28.5% of scored Sports videos reach 2x or more, 9.9% reach 5x and 4.6% reach 10x — which is what a large multiplier is worth in this niche specifically.

Common questions

How do creators compete without match footage?

By selling the interpretation rather than the event. Tactics boards, training breakdowns, data, interviews and fan-culture pieces all sit outside the rights problem, and the strongest rows here are almost always one of those. The footage is a commodity and the explanation is not.

Does the season make these rankings unreliable?

It makes them cyclical. Demand rises with the fixture calendar and falls in the off-season, while each video is measured against a median built across the whole year. A breakout published during a final or a tournament is partly a calendar effect, so read the date alongside the number.

Why do Shorts dominate the top of sports leaderboards?

Because one play, one statistic or one argument is a complete unit of sports content, and the feed carries it to people who follow the sport without following the channel. Shorts are pooled separately for that reason, so compare a Short only against other Shorts from the same channel.

How many Sports videos are behind this leaderboard?

5,278 scored Sports videos from 87 channels in the snapshot dated September 21, 2026. 279 of them clear the leaderboard filter, and this page publishes the strongest 10.

How often does this Sports leaderboard change?

It is rebuilt from each dataset publish and the page revalidates hourly, so the ranking you are reading belongs to the snapshot dated September 21, 2026. Ranks move between refreshes as views accumulate and as videos age past the 12-month eligibility window.
